English translation:
If you do not fall a martyr at Maiwand,
by God, my love, someone is keeping you for a life of shame.
About this poem
Attributed to Malalai, who rallied the Afghan fighters at the battle of Maiwand in 1880. Another version begins «که له میونده روغ راستون شوې»: "If you come back from Maiwand unharmed". Text as given on Pashto Wikipedia, with stray spaces inside words removed.
