Confederation
The Lodi descend in the traditional genealogy from Ibrahim Lodi, a son of Bibi Matu and Shah Husain of Ghor. They once held the Ghazni hills and the plains of Tank and the Daman, and many moved to Hindustan under the Lodi and Sur dynasties. Their three divisions are the Niazi, Siani and Dotani.
The genealogy follows the Makhzan-i Afghani and the Khulasat al-Ansab, as Caroe tabulates them. It records tradition: where sources place a tribe differently, the note above says so.
