Tribe
The Bhittani hold the hills on the western border of Tank and Bannu, from the Gabbar to the Gomal, and part of the Tank plain. They carry Bitan's name as his male-line descendants. Bellew and the 1910 Dictionary of the Pathan Tribes divide them into the Tatta, Dhanna and Warashpun.
The genealogy follows the Makhzan-i Afghani and the Khulasat al-Ansab, as Caroe tabulates them. It records tradition: where sources place a tribe differently, the note above says so.
