The Taraki are a largely nomadic Ghilzai tribe of the country around Mukur and Kandahar. Bellew and Encyclopaedia Iranica place them in the eastern half of the confederation.
The Makhzan-i Afghani makes Taraki a son of Toor, in the western half; Bellew and Encyclopaedia Iranica place the Taraki with the eastern Ghilzai under Burhan.
