The Honai are a Sayyid group counted in the Karlanri line. The Makhzan-i Afghani makes Hani a son of Kodai and also a son of Sayyid Muhammad Gisudaraz by a Karlanri wife, and Ibbetson calls them an affiliated tribe of Sayyid origin. The Khulasat al-Ansab places them among the Khattak on the hill of Nilab, and Rose with the Mangal in Kurram and Kohat.
The genealogy follows the Makhzan-i Afghani and the Khulasat al-Ansab, as Caroe tabulates them. It records tradition: where sources place a tribe differently, the note above says so.
