Tribe · Affiliated, outside the Qais genealogy
The Swati are described by the 1910 Dictionary of the Pathan Tribes as the original inhabitants of Swat, of Indian origin. Rose records that they were driven into Hazara under Sayyid Jalal Baba.
The genealogy follows the Makhzan-i Afghani and the Khulasat al-Ansab, as Caroe tabulates them. It records tradition: where sources place a tribe differently, the note above says so.
