The Mashwani are a Sayyid tribe of Srikot and Gandgarh in Hazara and of Bajaur, said to have come from Masharahrud between Shorawak and Baluchistan. The Makhzan-i Afghani traces them to Sayyid Muhammad Gisudaraz by a Kakar wife and counts them with the Kakar.
The genealogy follows the Makhzan-i Afghani and the Khulasat al-Ansab, as Caroe tabulates them. It records tradition: where sources place a tribe differently, the note above says so.
