Tribe

Khostwal

خوستوال

The Khostwal are the people of Khost. Longworth Dames groups them with the Daur and Bannuchi as probably the Shitak, and Bellew lists their sections.

Where the sources disagree

Only Longworth Dames links the Khostwal to the Shitak, and he gives the placement as probable.

Other branches of Shitak

Sources

The genealogy follows the Makhzan-i Afghani and the Khulasat al-Ansab, as Caroe tabulates them. It records tradition: where sources place a tribe differently, the note above says so.
