The Gandapur are a tribe of Kulachi and Rori in Dera Ismail Khan and were among the pawindah traders. Rose calls them a Sayyid tribe of Ushtarani stock and lists Gandapur among the descendants of Hannar, ancestor of the Ushtarani proper; he adds that they began as a Sherani section. A small colony of Shaikhs, the Zarkanni, lives among them.
The genealogy follows the Makhzan-i Afghani and the Khulasat al-Ansab, as Caroe tabulates them. It records tradition: where sources place a tribe differently, the note above says so.
