Tribe
دلازاک
The Dilazak once held the whole Peshawar valley. The Yusufzai and Ghoria Khel drove them out and Jahangir deported them, leaving remnants in Hazara, Attock and Chach; Caroe calls the tribe extinct. The Makhzan-i Afghani and the Khulasat al-Ansab count Dilazak as a son of Kodai.
Ibbetson and Bellew make the Dilazak a Turk tribe in the following of Mahmud of Ghazni, or of Scythic or Jat stock, and Ibbetson lists them among the races allied to the Pathan.
The genealogy follows the Makhzan-i Afghani and the Khulasat al-Ansab, as Caroe tabulates them. It records tradition: where sources place a tribe differently, the note above says so.
